A certificate of insurance is a one-page statement of insurance coverage, issued by an insurance broker, that serves as verification that an organization is insured. Information contained in the certificate of insurance includes the name(s) of the insured, monetary limits of insurance, policy period, and type of insurance (for example, auto or general liability).
Yes, Occidental has a current general liability certificate of insurance and auto liability certificate of insurance that can be used as evidence of Occidental’s insurance coverage. Occidental’s insurance policies are purchased each fiscal year. This current “to whom it may concern” may be provided to outside entities who request a certificate of insurance.

Yes, Occidental has a certificate of insurance that shows Oxy’s current auto insurance policy information. This policy includes coverage for vehicles rented for 鶹Ƶbusiness.

If there is an immediate danger to the campus community, please call Campus Safety at (323) 259-2599. If the safety concern is less pressing, please contact Risk Management at (323) 259-1364 or andersenj@oxy.edu.
If there is a health or safety emergency, call Campus Safety at (323) 259-2599. Campus Safety will involve other offices as necessary.
If the accident is serious or involves injury, contact the local police (911) to get help and make a report. All accidents must be reported to Campus Safety at (323) 259-2599 immediately after the safety and security of all involved persons is secured.
After an accident, be sure to obtain insurance information from all involved parties and take pictures of the vehicles and surrounding area. If police report to the scene, obtain their name, badge number and accident report number.
Upon your return to campus, you must report to Campus Safety for a vehicle inspection. For more information, check out Occidental’s Vehicle Rental Policy and Procedures.
For flat tires, you may change the tire yourself if you are comfortable doing so. For flat tires and other minor mechanical issues, you may call the toll-free Road Side Assistance Number (800) 622-2136 for help.
If the vehicle cannot be driven, contact Campus Safety at (323) 259-2599. Campus Safety will make a report and work with the Motor Pool Coordinator to arrange for towing. If the vehicle breaks down after hours, you should contact Campus Safety and the toll-free Roadside Assistance Number (800) 622-2136 for help.
Upon your return to campus, you must report all mechanical issues to the Motor Pool Coordinator. For more information, check out Occidental’s Vehicle Rental Program.

Active fires should be immediately reported to LAFD by calling 911 (9-911 from campus phones). After being extinguished, fires of any size should be reported to: 1) Campus Safety, 2) the Director of Risk Management, and 3) the Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
