Information about tuition, fees, student accounts, payment plans, and more.
Tuition and Fees
The direct costs for the 2024-25 academic year, including tuition and fees, housing options, meal plans, and more, can be found on the Student Business Services website. Direct costs for 2025-26 coming soon.
Accept Your Financial Aid
If you received a financial aid offer, you will need to log in to the financial aid student portal to accept your offer and start the disbursement process. There is nothing you need to do here just yet.
Accept Awards
Information about accepting awards will become available in the coming months. Stay tuned.
Review Documents and Messages
Then, while still logged into the portal, you should check the status of any document and read important messages. Missing or incomplete documents will prevent your financial aid from being applied to your charges and may result in late fees. Other missing documents, such as the Funds Authorization Form, must be submitted through your student IDOC portal.
Online Entrance Interview, Master Promissory Note, and Disclosures for Loans
If you have been awarded assistance through the Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized, Occidental No-Interest Loan or the Occidental Low-Interest Loan program, you will be asked to complete a mandatory entrance interview and electronically sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Disclosures (Â鶹ƵµÀLoans only). You should complete your forms by early July by going to for Federal Direct Loans and/or the ECSI portal for Occidental's student loan program.
Billing
Student Business Services uses electronic billing to send you student account statements. You’ll need to set up your Â鶹ƵµÀeBill account and add any authorized users (those are the people you provide permission to view your account and pay your balance) by mid July 2025.
Financial aid credits reflected on your bill are those that have been awarded and accepted up to the time the billing statement was generated (don’t forget to accept your financial aid offer by July 14). Grants, scholarships, and loans are reflected on your billing statement and result in a reduction in the amount owed. Federal work-study and Occidental Work Awards are paid directly to the student as they earn them and are not reflected on the billing statement.
Adding authorized users to your billing account
If you wish to give others permission to receive your billing statements or make payments on your behalf, you can follow the directions to add authorized users on the Student Business Services webpage. You will complete this task during the month of July (2025). More than one authorized user can be added to any student account.
Payment Methods
Occidental accepts personal or cashier’s checks, payments from your 529 College Savings plan, cash (if paying in person at the cashier), money orders, ACH (electronic checks), debit cards, or electronic funds transfer (EFT/wire transfer).
Payment Plans
The College offers two payment options: the semester payment plan and the monthly (deferred) payment plan. All students are automatically assigned the semester payment plan. If you want to participate in the monthly payment plan, you must sign up through our . You can elect to change your payment plan type at the beginning of a new semester. You will need to re-enroll each semester if you want to continue to pay in installments.
Semester Payment Plan
Payment of all regular charges is due before the beginning of each semester. First semester charges, less financial aid credits, if any, will be due in August 2025. Second semester charges, less financial aid credits, if any, will be due in early January 2026.
Monthly Payment Plan
Charges may be paid in 5 monthly installments. For fall semester, monthly installments are due by the first of the month, August through December. For spring semester, monthly installments are due by the first of the month, January through May. There is a fee of $50 per semester to participate in the monthly payment plan. In order to have the option of paying in five installments, you must enroll in the plan prior to the first due date: check back for due dates.
Charging to Your Student Account
A debit account called Bengal Bucks may be opened to purchase items in the bookstore and the Student Activity Center. Visit the Card Services webpage to establish your account or to add funds. Any unused funds roll over for use in future semesters.
Tuition Insurance
A serious illness or accident that forces a student to leave Occidental before the semester is completed can be financially costly. To protect against this possibility, Occidental offers optional tuition insurance through GradGuard. For additional information, visit the Student Business Services tuition insurance webpage.
Withdrawal Policy
Students who withdraw during the semester may be eligible for refunds, depending upon the time of the withdrawal. Students must give written notification to the registrar of their decision to withdraw and complete all withdrawal procedures in order to be eligible for any refunds. For important dates to remember for payments and refunds, visit the list of important dates from Student Business Services.
