8:50 p.m. The second earthquake in two days to shake Southern California, centered close to the first, hit at 8:19 p.m. today. As was the case with the first, the Â鶹ƵµÀcampus was unaffected by the shaking.

Today's 7.1 magnitude earthquake was centered in the desert roughly 125 miles north of Los Angeles. While this quake also was felt throughout the region, it caused no damage or interruption of any services at Oxy.

July 4, 12:15 p.m. The earthquake that rattled Southern California this morning had no impact on the Â鶹ƵµÀ campus. The 6.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 10:33 a.m. was centered in the desert 125 miles north of Los Angeles. While felt throughout the region, it was too far from Â鶹ƵµÀto cause any problems. Los Angeles city officials also report no damage.
