The annual Spring Showcase highlights and celebrates the social justice projects of Fall HJC courses.

Exhibits from the following courses will be on display from February 9-23, 2024 on the first floor of the library.

  • FYS 1: Transpacific Movements and Activisms: Asian and Asian American Connections Across the Pacific
  • FYS 2: Eating Culture: Food, Race, and Migration
  • FYS 3: Linguistic Resilience in Los Angeles
  • BLST/AMST 208: The Great Migration and the Transformation of American Culture
  • MAC 244: Feminist Provocations: Migrant Justice in the US Cinema
  • RELS 111: Displaced peoples of the Mediterranean

Opening Reception & Celebration - Friday, February 9, 4-7pm

4:00-6:00 pm - Exhibits open, students from the courses will be present to discuss their work.  First floor of the Library

5:00 pm - Anyone who attends an exhibit will recieve a ticket for a free meal from the  truck on the Quad

5:00 pm - Live music from , a band from East LA who performs San Jarocho music.
