The Book Store by Adam Szymkowicz
Like many other colleges, universities, schools, and theaters around the world, we cancelled our spring productions. We understand how disappointing this is to our students, their families and friends, and our faculty and staff.
The Book Store was scheduled to open April 17, 2020 in Keck Theater. The play explores the value of a bookstore as more than a commercial enterprise. His Book Store is a place where strangers from all walks of life can be themselves, physically come together, find a sense of community, and even fall in love. The play has a profoundly simple message that certainly resonates today.
We were well into rehearsals and load-in when the college moved to remote learning and we cancelled our show. To honor the work our students, faculty, guest artists, and staff have put into the production, set designer Aubree Cedillo created a for our community. We want to share it with you.
Check back often as we are still receiving content from our students, alums and supporters.
