Nora joined Occidental as general counsel in 2021. As the chief legal officer of the College and a member of its senior leadership team, Nora oversees litigation and provides legal advice to the Board of Trustees, President, and other constituents on a wide range of legal issues. She represents the College in matters including employment, academic and student affairs, business and tax issues, board governance, risk management, privacy, and intellectual property. She strives to do so in a way that aligns with and advocates for the College’s strategic goals.
Before working at Oxy, Nora was a litigator at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and worked primarily in the firm’s colleges and universities group, white collar defense, and labor and employment. Nora received a J.D. and a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. She also clerked for the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford in the Central District of California and is a member of the State Bar of California.
