- Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights Announces Virtual Public Hearing to Gather Information for the Purpose of Improving Enforcement of Title IX
- At the hearing, members of the public may comment on steps the Department can take to ensure that schools are providing students with educational environments free from discrimination in the form of sexual harassment, which encompasses sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence. Members of the public may also comment on how the Department can continue to ensure that schools have grievance procedures that provide for the fair, prompt, and equitable resolution of reports of sexual harassment and other sex discrimination, cognizant of the sensitive issues that are often involved. OCR also seeks the public’s comments on the Department’s role in addressing discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in educational environments.

- Goodbye Marianne
- New Committee Recommendation - With the return of students in the fall, 50% of whom have never lived on campus before, prevention programs and individual student support around issues of party/binge drinking culture, consent, healthy relationships and communication, and sexual assault will be crucial to creating healthy and safe opportunities for student connection and community. The growth of Project SAFE's reach and reputation among the student body over the last 5 years included a 60% jump from one year to the next in the number of student survivors seen by the Advocate. The need for this position to be immediately responsive to crisis situations and provide lengthy on and off-campus accompaniments that take priority over office and program management means that it cannot be shared with the Prevention Specialist/Program Coordinator role.
